The Panda, Zebra, Dalmatian story that I am working on is close to buttoning up.  There is one last creative hurdle to clear to draw it all to a close.  There will need to be a few rounds of self-editing after that, of course, but the heavy lifting will be done. I have found that often there is a fine line where upon a thing passes from enjoyable to tedious.  Writing has such a line and I do not want Panda, Zebra, Dalmatian to cross it.  The story is very near completion now.  All that is required is one good day of focused attention to finish bringing it to life. …

New short story coming soon. It is about three anthropomorphized animals and their interactions. I think the writing processed I used here was a little flawed. I started off with just a half notion for a story, but thought it would make a good jump off point for a quick piece. Unfortunately, the half notion wasn’t really enough to get me started and it just existed and discontinuous paragraphs without any real form for a while. Gah! I have another political piece posted below. I really am not trying to make this page a political soapbox but the U.S. election feels omnipresent right now. There is a one-page essay below about how Fox News has positioned itself in it election coverage. I whipped it up last night without thinking or editing much. Hopefully that is out of my system for a while. I promise my next posting will be more whimsical if not more pleasurable.
